Veterans Upward Bound provides a variety of services to our population. The following outlines our most common functions, but if you need assistance in another way, please reach out to us. We conduct a variety of referrals with other veteran-facing partners in the Boston, Massachusetts, and New England area. 

Academics

Preparation training and support for veterans looking to enter degree programs, licensure programs, or other academically-minded institutions. 

Best for veterans who:

  • Have been out of school 5+ years
  • Are nervous about returning to classes and coursework
  • Are interested in improving their study skills

Benefits

Understanding of benefits, including GI Bill and VR&E benefits, especially as they apply to acquisition of education and professional training. 

Best for veterans who:

  • Are unsure about the application of and constraints of their GI Bill
  • Want to know how VR&E can advance their education 
  • Are interested in financial literacy

Development

Professional development designed to improve personal presentation and communication, and entry into the workforce. 

Best for veterans who:

  • Want to update their resume
  • Are looking for employment / employment transitions 
  • Are interested in trades & apprenticeships
