Academic Support

Succeeding in an academic program is about more than being ready for the first day of class - it's about feeling confident with the trajectory of your degree program, having the necessary study skills to effectively prepare for assignments, and having the credentials needed to enter the degree program in the first place!

VUB is happy to help you prepare for academic environments through our comprehensive tutoring support services.
Successful people and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.
- John Maxwell

Academic Refresher Courses

Boost your skills in Math, Reading, and Writing with our self-paced, individually-tailored courses offered via COMFIT. Available 24/7, these asynchronous lessons offer unlimited access and personalized learning plans to help you succeed at your own pace.

Tutoring Services

VUB is proud to partner with Suffolk University's Center for Learning and Academic Success, Net Tutor, and Boston University's Veteran Assist Club to deliver free tutoring services. While with VUB, you have the opportunity to receive personal, college-level tutoring through these partnerships.

Study & Test-Taking Skills

Developing good study skills is a key facet of succeeding in an academic program. VUB can help you identify study schedules and strategies that maximize your success in academic programs.

Placement Testing

VUB utilizes the ACCUPLACER to evaluate the academic skills of adult learners in subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics. This assessment will help VUB assess the veteran's current academic skill set and work towards doing well on their college entrance exam.

College Application Support

Preparing for entry into a two-year or four-year degree program? We can help you navigate the application process, identify which institution is best for you, pay for required transcripts, and more.
